The capital of northern Lazio, of Etruscan origin, has a particularly evocative medieval order, especially in the old quarter of San Pellegrino, often animated by fairs and markets. The city is still surrounded by well-turreted medieval walls open seven doors and is also particularly homogeneous presents for the use of lava stone, used as well in common building. There are many artistic attractions: palaces, churches, fountains, towers, sprouting from arches and picturesque glimpses games. Justly famous for its Renaissance Villa Lante, Bagnaia is also a pretty medieval town, whose picturesque primitive village has developed around the castle. Villa Lante, designed by Vignola in 1578, is one of the most eminent examples of Renaissance architecture. The complex consists of two symmetrical buildings with Mannerist frescoes by the school and the beautiful Italian garden full of fountains and water features. A lush park surrounding the villa.

The monument for which it is known is the beautiful Palazzo Farnese, built by Antonio da Sangallo for Cardinal Alessandro Farnese and then finished by Vignola, who transformed the original fortress in an elegant noble villa. The palace is the most important monument of Italian Mannerism, its pentagonal shape encloses a harmonious circular courtyard from which the surprising scale Regia, helical, which gives access to the upper floors.

Important Etruscan center, boasts a remarkable amphitheater carved into the stone, of uncertain date, but certainly one of the most important ancient monuments of the Lazio. Singular and worthy of interest is the chapel of the Madonna del Parto and the Cathedral, of Romanesque origin.

The small town of Etruscan origin, between Lake Vico and the Cimini developed around a medieval village. Among the most important buildings: the Cathedral and the church of St. Mary of Peace, attributed to Vignola. Famous is the Carnival of Ronciglione, with the traditional parade of floats and unusual run by riderless horses.

Village perched on a cliff, overlooking the gorges of the Treia, offering views of enchanting beauty. Particularly striking is the entrance to the village: a double door set in medieval stone walls; from the central square and then it opens a range of intricate alleys.

Located amidst the beautiful chestnut Cimini, S. Martino al Cimino is distinguished by the seventeenth-century urban structure that characterizes the ancient medieval village. The main streets leading to the beautiful Cistercian abbey of St. Martin (XIII sec.) Which had great influence on architecture medieval Viterbo. From the top you can admire a wonderful treat.

Important town which lies on a tuff shelf, on the ruins of Faliscan " Falerii Veteres ". Known for the cathedral, magnificent example of Romanesque architecture and the imposing Fortress of Sangallo, with a beautiful frescoed courtyard. Inside the fortress you can visit the Archaeological Museum of Agro Falisco which preserves valuable evidence from the archaeological excavations of the territory.

The historic village, overlooking the valley of Treia , is artistically known for the presence of beautiful churches: San Biagio of the sixteenth century with frescoes by Lorenzo and Antonio da Viterbo; Madonna del Soccorso or redness of the sixteenth century with the beautiful Paradise Chapel frescoed by Federico Zuccari; Sant'Egidio of the fifteenth century with frescoes by Bartolomeo Torresani.

At about 5 km from Rio Coverino it is located Welsh, Etruscan town in a picturesque location on a spur of tufa. Worth a visit to the Palazzo Ducale, the seventeenth-century reworking of G. Della Porta (a pupil of Vignola) of the medieval castle.

Ideal place for a nature walk is Lake Vico, of volcanic origin, which keeps pristine shores, white beaches and enchanting views. The lakeside setting, full of pike, perch and tench, hosts falagh, mallards, flocks, woodpeckers and small rodents. Pleasant dining overlooking the lake .

Etruscan town with a medieval center, famous for its city walls and the imposing Rocca; particularly striking, at the north of the country, the arches of an eighteenth-century aqueduct. To visit: the Cathedral, the Town Hall, built by Antonio da Sangallo, in the Baroque style. Nearby, the Romanesque Basilica of St. Elias or S.Anastasio , which boasts an interesting cycle of Byzantine-inspired murals, the cosmatesque floor and an old pulpit.
