CORCHIANO
The origin of Corchiano you go back to the period of Falisci and almost certainly the ancient Fascennium stood on the village. The historic village, overlooking the valley of Treia, is artistically known for the presence of beautiful churches: San Biagio sixteenth century with frescoes by Lorenzo and Antonio da Viterbo; Madonna del Soccorso or Rossore sixteenth century with the splendid chapel of Paradise frescoed by Federico Zuccari; Sant'Egidio fifteenth century with frescoes by Bartolomeo Torresani.

CIVITA CASTELLANA
Important town that lies on a shelf tufaceo, on the ruins of falisca "Falerii Veteres." E 'note for the cathedral, magnificent example of Romanesque architecture and the imposing fortress of Sangallo, with a beautiful frescoed courtyard. Inside the fortress is visited the Archaeological Museum dell'Agro Falisco which preserves valuable testimonies from archaeological excavations of the territory.

GALLESE
At about 5 km from Rio Coverino is Welsh, Etruscan town in picturesque position on a spur tufaceo. Worth a visit Palazzo Ducale, reworking seventeenth-century by G. Della Porta (a pupil of Vignola) of the medieval castle.

FALERII NOVI
At about 10 km Corchiano arise from the ruins of this ancient Roman city of sec. BC III built on the ruins of falisca Falerii. Significant walls, which remains the entire tour (along m.2108) and the Romanesque church of St. Mary of Falleri. It reaches from here easily caves and Etruscan tombs in the nearby ravine.

LAKE OF VICO
Ideal for a walk in nature is Lake Vico, of volcanic origin, who maintains pristine shores, white beaches and views of striking beauty. The lake environment, full of pike, perch and tench, houses falaghe, germani real flocks, peaks and small rodents. Pleasant points Refreshments overlook the lake.

CAPRAROLA
The monument for which is unknown is the beautiful Palazzo Farnese, built by Antonio da Sangallo on behalf of Cardinal Alessandro Farnese and then finished by Vignola, who transformed the original fortress in an elegant villa noble. The Palace is the most important monument of Italian mannerism, his pentagonal encloses a smooth circular courtyard from which part the surprising scale Direction, twisted, which gives access to upper floors.

NEPI
Etruscan town with a medieval core, famous for the walls and the imposing Rocca; particularly evocative, to the north of the country, the arches of an aqueduct eighteenth century. To visit the Cathedral, Town Hall, raised by Antonio da Sangallo, in baroque style. Nearby, the Roman Basilica of St. Elijah or S. Anastasio, which boasts an interesting cycle of frescoes of inspiration Byzantine, the Cosmati floor and an old pulpit.

SUTRI
Important etruscan center, boasts a remarkable Amphitheatre dug into the tufa, date uncertain, but certainly one of the most important ancient sites of Lazio. Singular and worthy of interest the sacellum of the Madonna del Parto and the Dome of Romanesque origin.

RONCIGLIONE
Elegant town of Etruscan origin, between Lake Vico and Monti Cimini developed around a typical medieval village. Among the most valuable buildings: the Cathedral and the church of St. Mary of Peace, attributed to Vignola. Famous is the carnival of Ronciglione, with the traditional parade of allegorical floats and unusual galoppata horses without jockey.

CALCATA
The village perched on a cliff overlooking the gorges of Treia, offering views of enchanting beauty. Particularly striking is the entrance all'abitato: a double door set in medieval walls of rock, from central square then opens a range of intricate alleys.

PARC OF MOUNTAINS CIMINI
Walk of considerable interest among landscape beech, chestnut and valleys. The summit (m.1053) can also be reached by car, thanks to a comfortable asphalt road, enjoying the beauty of landscapes. On top of the tower and the famous Menicante Sasso, already known by the Romans, a mass oscillating in balance over the rock of the mountain.

VITERBO
Viterbo, etruscan origins, retains a medieval town and particularly impressive, especially in the district of San Pellegrino, often motivated by fairs and markets. The city is still a walled medieval turrite open seven doors and is particularly uniform even for the use of peperino, also used in construction. There are many artistic attractions: palaces, churches, fountains, towers, which sprout between games of arches and picturesque views. We recall, among others, the famous Papal Palace, from the splendid loggia traforata, the Romanesque cathedral, rich in works of art, on which stands a precious bell of the Gothic style; Palazzo dei Priori and the powers, testifying as Piazza del Plebiscito has been since the Middle Ages, the political heart of
the city. Viterbo, in addition to having different museums, is also spa, already known to the Romans. The sulphurous water source Bulicame offer for the entire year a high quality service for the treatment of disorders and respiratory osteoarticular.

BAGNAIA
Justly famous for its Renaissance Villa Lante, Bagnaia is also a pretty medieval town of origin, whose picturesque village primary has developed around the castle. Villa Lante, designed by Vignola in 1578, is one of the most prominent examples of Renaissance architecture. The complex is composed of two symmetrical buildings with frescoes of Mannerist school and the beautiful garden, full of fountains and water games. A lush park surrounding the villa.

SAN MARTINO AL CIMINO
Situated between the beautiful chestnut of Cimini, S. Martino al Cimino stands out for the town-planning secentesco that characterizes the old medieval village. The main streets leading to splendid Cistercian abbey of St. Martin (XIII sec.) That had great influence on the medieval Viterbo. From one can admire a pleasant landscape.
